By using the facilities of this site and accessing information from this site you agree to use the Services consistent with these Terms and Conditions and with all applicable laws and regulations. We may modify these Terms and Conditions from time to time. If we do, we will notify you by posting the amended Terms and Conditions in these pages. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. We will not notify you before we terminate your membership for violation of these Terms and Conditions. If we terminate your membership, we may not reinstate it in our sole discretion.

A. RULES FOR ACCESSING INFO FROM THIS SITE.

1. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES.
You are not permitted to transmit messages using facilities/information from this site, that
(a) infringe on any third party's intellectual property or proprietary rights, or rights of publicity or privacy;
(b) violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation;
(c) are defamatory, trade libelous, threatening, abusive, or obscene;
(d) contain viruses or other similar harmful or deleterious programming routines; or

2. RULES RELATING TO MINORS.
Minors are not allowed to be members of this group or access any member-privileged info from this site. Anybody qualifying to enter GCEK is not considered a minor.

B. RULES FOR POSTING INFO TO THIS SITE.

C. OUR PRIVACY POLICY.

1. EXCLUSION FROM PRIVACY.
Your name, current address, batch and branch are not considered private data and will be viewable by all members of this site. We understand these are 'private' data in general cases, but this being an alumni site and to maintain its utility value this information needs to be shared amongst members. Registration data mentioned anywhere in this document, w.r.t. privacy, excludes these items.

2. PRIVACY OF YOUR INFO.
We will not intentionally monitor or disclose any of your activity or registration data unless we believe in good faith that we are required to do so
(i) to enforce these Terms and Conditions,
(ii) by law,
(iii) to defend us in any action, or
(iv) to protect our property.
Additionally, you agree to respect the privacy and confidentiality of others. Since privacy is a function of your password, we encourage you to change your password frequently and to not share it with anyone.

3. PRIVACY OF YOUR REGISTRATION DATA.
If you elect to share your registration data with fellow GCEKians, we may use your individual registration data to target them to you. Otherwise, your data will not be disclosed to anyone. Keeping in mind the nature of this site, we encourage you to disclose your data, though. Your data will not be transfered to any third party for commercial purposes.

D. ABOUT YOUR MEMBERSHIP

1. REGISTRATION DATA.
You agree to provide us with current, complete, and accurate registration information in the registration process and to maintain and update your registration information as necessary to keep it current, complete and accurate.

2. PERSONAL USE.
You acknowledge that only you are authorized to use your membership. You agree not to resell or make any commercial use of your membership and you agree to be fully liable for the use of your membership, including any unauthorized use of your membership by a third party. You agree to notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your membership.

3. CANCELLING YOUR MEMBERSHIP.
If your membership is cancelled by you or by us we may, in our sole discretion, recycle your login id or mail id for POP mail after it has been inactive for three (3) months.

4. MEMBERSHIP CONDITIONS.
It is assumed that either you are an alumni of the Government Engineering College, Kannur (refered to as GCEK) or is an associate of the same. Unless so, we see no reason for you to be interested in this site and reserve the rights to close your membership upon our sole discretion.

E. OTHER PROVISIONS.

1. PROPRIETARY RIGHTS.
We or our partners or advertisers may provide you with content such as text, software, music, sound, photographs, graphics, video or other material. This material may be protected by copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights and laws. You may use this material only as expressly authorized by us or our partners or advertisers and you may not copy, transmit or create derivative works of such material without express authorization.

2. INDEMNIFICATION.
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold us, our affiliates harmless from any claim, demand or damage, including reasonable attorneys' fees, caused by or arising out of claims made against us based upon the use of your membership.

3. SURVIVAL OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
You must adhere to these Terms and Conditions for so long as you are using the Services. Either you or we may terminate your membership at any time, with or without cause.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES.
YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT USE OF THE SERVICES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN AVAILABLE BASIS. WE MAY CHANGE THE FEATURES OR FUNCTIONALITY OF THE SERVICES AT "AS IS" AND "AS ANY" TIME DISCRETION. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY.
WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR FOR INTERRUPTED COMMUNICATIONS, LOST DATA OR LOST PROFITS ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF DAMAGES.

MISCELLANEOUS.
These Terms and Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India
without giving effect to principles of conflict of laws.
