GCEK Net is an alumni site of the Government College of Engineering, Kannur (refered to as GCEK). The focus of this site is on the following aspects of an online presence for GCEK.

• A source of information for general public or corporate visitors seeking the same on GCEK.
• A helping hand to students in making career decisions, through articles and information on career openings.
• A place where ex-students and current students can find contact information and other necessary details about their friends.
• An online community to boost and maintain group activities and to keep the GCEK spirit alive.

Of these, the first is an open to all intention which is arguably the most extensive part of this site too. Entry or access of information in this section does not require registration. Please feel free to use resources available in these sections.

The latter three are targeted at a closed user group comprising of current and previous students of GCEK. Registration is required to access information in these sections. However, if you are not a GCEKian, please be adviced that these sections do not contain materials of public interest. If you are a GCEKian, please go to the registration page if you agree with our terms and conditions.

Your profile is the picture of you that most of the members of this site get. So, please spare a little time to update your profile occassionally with latest and complete information. It will be greatly appreaciated if you could follow certain conventions while filling in the details.

• Please use starting letter as capital for each word of your name, and the rest as small letters. That is, your name should look like 'Ram Kumar S' (say) and not like 'RAM KUMAR S' or 'ram kumar s'. Please follow this convention for other fields also. We are sure you are aware that all-caps is generally considered arrogant and all-small is generally considered careless. Well... that is not what you are! ;)
• Please fill in full and complete details. Kindly don't consider our alumni site as yet-another-form-to-fill. We are sharing info among friends and not to some marketing guy who want to sell you a hawaii offer for ten dollars, with some fineprint at the bottom!
• We at GCEK Net take your privacy seriously. If you prefer to keep certain part of your profile as private we will indeed honor your decision. We do have a request though, keeping in mind the purpose of this site, to refrain from using this facility wherever possible.
• Members of this site and/or GCEK Net may contact you in the e-mail address you provide. Please ensure that the address you give here is correct and also that it is a mailbox you check frequently. Wherever possible, it is recommended that you give your primary mail ID (official ID in most cases).
